Membership of CSNICC is open to anyone regardless of background. The Club is active in promoting good relationships with local schools of different types and from different sectors. It draws members from all sections of the local community and is committed to working with the cricket’s governing bodies and the City Council to broaden participation amongst groups that are seen to be under-represented in the sport.

The Junior Section of CSNI is a vibrant part of the club. Our primary goal is to encourage all our young cricketers to participate, learn about the game, develop their skills and enjoy their cricket. Opportunities are provided to participate in the sport at a level commensurate with their ability and ambition. We encourage the young people and their families to become active members of the club and play a full role in the playing and social development growth of the club. Our philosophy of inclusion and progression provides each member with the opportunity to try, learn and develop skills in spatial awareness and co-ordination, in a cricketing context.

The Junior Section is led by Director of Youth Coaching, Andrew Cowden, who holds ECB level 2.5 coaching qualifications. Andrew is also the current Club Captain. He is ably assisted by Junior Convenor, Stephen Dyer, a former senior cricketer and an ECB level 2 coach. Together Andrew and Stephen head up a growing group of club coaches drawn from senior players through to recent graduates of the Junior Section who themselves are progressing through their coaching qualifications.

The Junior Section also recognises potential and works closely with the Northern Cricket Union (NCU) and Cricket Ireland to develop individual talent with pathways to inter-provincial and international honours. The club has produced many representative/international cricketers over the last few years including boys at U11, U13, U15, U17, U19 and U21 levels. This pathway offers year round Academy training for those identified, which includes 1:1 mentor sessions and specific skills development during the cricket season.
